BusinessTech is committed to accuracy, and we correct errors when we find them or when they are brought to our attention.
Minor Corrections. Small errors that do not affect the substance of a story, such as typos, formatting issues or minor style inconsistencies, are corrected without a formal notice, though the update may be reflected in the article’s last-updated date.
Factual Errors. When a factual error affects the accuracy of a story, such as an incorrect figure, date, name or quote, we correct the error in the text and add a note at the bottom of the article explaining what was changed and when.
Significant Errors. For errors that materially affect the meaning or conclusions of a story, we add a clearly labeled correction notice describing the nature of the error, and in some cases may republish or update the headline with an editor’s note explaining the change.
Headlines and Images or Captions. If a headline, image or caption is found to be inaccurate or misleading, it is corrected, and where the error was significant, we note that a correction was made.
Updates Versus Corrections. We distinguish between updates, which add new information to a developing story, and corrections, which fix inaccurate information that was previously published. Both are noted transparently within the article.
Requesting a Correction. If you believe an article contains an error, please contact us at corrections@businesstech.ng with the article title, a link, and a description of the issue. We review correction requests and respond as promptly as we are able.
