BusinessTech is committed to reporting that is accurate, fair and useful to our readers. This Editorial Policy outlines the standards our editorial team follows.
Accuracy and Fact-Checking. Before publication, our editorial team works to verify claims, figures and quotes against reliable sources, such as official statements, primary documents, company communications or firsthand reporting. When a claim cannot be independently verified, we say so or attribute it clearly to its source.
Sources. We favor primary and official sources where possible, including company announcements, regulatory filings, research papers and statements from named individuals. We attribute information to its source so readers can evaluate it themselves.
Anonymous Sources. We use anonymous sources sparingly, generally only when a source has direct knowledge of the matter and faces real risk from being named, and when the information cannot reasonably be obtained on the record. We assess the reliability of anonymous sources before relying on them.
Breaking News and Updates. In fast-moving situations, we may publish initial reports with the information available at the time and update the story as more facts emerge. Significant updates are noted within the article.
Headlines. Headlines are written to accurately reflect the content of the article. If a headline is later found to be misleading or inaccurate, it will be corrected in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
Original Reporting and Attribution. When we reference or build on reporting from another outlet, we credit that outlet. When our reporting is original, based on our own research, interviews or analysis, we identify it as such.
Artificial Intelligence in Our Workflow. BusinessTech may use AI-assisted tools for tasks such as research support, transcription, organization or editing assistance. Any AI-assisted output is subject to review, fact-checking and editing by our editorial team before publication. See our AI and Content Policy for details.
Conflicts of Interest. Our editorial team is expected to disclose any personal or financial interest that could reasonably be seen as influencing coverage of a particular company, product or individual.
Sponsored Content and Advertising. Sponsored or paid content, where it appears, is clearly labeled as such and is developed separately from our independent editorial decisions. Advertising placements do not influence our editorial coverage. See our Advertising Policy for more detail.
Corrections. We correct errors when they are identified. Our full process is described in our Corrections Policy.
