American vehicle auction platforms rejected payments from third parties, and Nigerian fintech tools often declined the transactions. He watched businesses scramble for alternative routes, lean on middlemen and worry about whether a payment would arrive before a deadline. The scale of that market explains why the problem matters. Nigeria imports more than 200,000 used vehicles every year, many sourced from auctions in the United States, Canada and Belgium. Banks also limit the foreign currency they release, commonly capping international transactions for businesses at around $10,000 a day. What Clea Does Adedokun co-founded Clea with Sidney Egwuatu and Iyiola Osuagwu. The platform lets a Nigerian importer fund the account in naira, convert at a visible rate and pay a verified overseas supplier through formal banking rails. Adedokun describes the customer experience as fiat, with stablecoins working in the settlement layer behind the scenes.
